Student Activism (Mondays for 10 Weeks) – FREE!

BGL really has distance learning figured out.

Maianna, Age 9

Children unite! For kids out there who feel called to take action, join Banyan Global Learning and special guest activists from Active Advocate in Los Angeles, California to learn about current activism movements. Children will apply what they learn about activism to support their own causes. Grounded in social and emotional learning, Student Activism provides a safe space for children and teens to explore challenging issues while empowering them to take action. The Student Activism Club creates a platform for young activists to unite and have their voices heard. Join us for an inside look at activism in Los Angeles, with special guests like organization leaders, storytellers, musicians, lawyers and more!

*Part 1 – Activism in Action

Join Active Advocate in front of City Hall in Los Angeles, California to meet real activists who do work daily in support of social justice. As activists share their inspiration for activism and strategies for getting started, basic building blocks of activism will be laid so children can begin to take action to support causes that matter most to them.

*“It’s a movement, not a moment.” Activism is a complex, ongoing process. There are ten parts to the Student Activism series. Begin with Part 1 – Activism in Action: Los Angeles to get an introduction to student activism, or select a Day Pass to join us for any of the ten weeks.

Scholarships are available to students who qualify for reduced and free-lunch.
